Skate stickers are cheap and plentiful.

You can find them in skate shops across the United States and they are also sold cheaply on eBay and Amazon.

You can purchase skate stickers in a variety of styles, sizes, and shapes.

Whether you’re showing your support for a sports team or opting for something more “traditional” like skulls and aliens, skateboard stickers can give your deck some individuality.

There’s not a lot to say about these stickers except that they are cheap and incredibly popular.

But there are a few commonly asked questions about using stickers on skateboard decks that we would like to address.

Where Do Skate Stickers Come From?

Manufacturers of skateboards and skateboard parts print stickers.

They are a product—a cheap, mass-produced, throwaway product that most skaters buy.

But they also serve to promote the brand, which is why they are produced by manufacturers of boards, trucks, wheels, and other parts.

If you can make some cool-looking stickers and sell them to 1,000 skateboarders, you won’t make a lot of money, but you will ensure that your brand is proudly and clearly displayed on 1,000 skateboards.

For that reason, many skateboard brands give stickers away for free, often as part of a bigger purchase.

Should I Use Skateboard Stickers?

It’s entirely up to you.

It’s a similar story with laptops and guitars—some people like to decorate their new purchase with an array of stickers that add more of a personal touch, others prefer to keep it clear.

There are some benefits that go beyond simple preference, though.

For instance, skateboard stickers can be used to patch grazed, damaged, and discolored areas.

It won’t fix the wood and the patch is purely aesthetic, but a cool sticker certainly looks better than a dull scratch.

If you’re a pro skater, there’s even more at stake, as a sticker pack could carry a sizable sponsorship deal with it.

Most professional skaters get paid to advertise brands and are not simply putting those stickers there because they look cool.

What is the Best Place to Put Stickers on Your Skateboard?

Ideally, skate stickers should go on the underside of the board.

That way, it won’t interfere with the grip.

You can place them anywhere you want, but it’s worth remembering that some areas (some as the nose and tail on the top of the board) will hinder your grip and may look a little out of place.

How Do You Put Stickers on a Skateboard?

If you’re placing the stickers on the underside of your skateboard deck, just peel off the backing and stick them on.

It’s not a complicated process and should only take a few seconds.

They are not permanent, either.

If you don’t like them, just peel them off and discard.

Can I Put Stickers on my Grip Tape?

You can, but if you do, make sure that it goes on an area that won’t hinder your grip and your ability to perform tricks.

Ultimately, it’s your board and you can do what you want.

If you want to place a sticker pack on the grip tape, do it.
